The use of adaptive beam-forming in medical ultrasound imaging considerably improves the quality of the obtained image. However, this quality improvement comes at a cost of more complex calculations which makes the real-time implementation of this image processing algorithm rather difficult. In recent years, with the use of Graphical Processing Units (GPUs), we have witnessed a great deal of improvement in the field of fast computing and processing. In this research, by implementing the adaptive beam-former algorithm, using the GPU-aided parallel processing, a high quality image has been achieved at an affordable time and cost.
